Half way from Boston to San Francisco

Did you know that there is a bridge across the Platt River and I80 that is 1733 miles from Boston and 1733 miles from San Francisco? Yes!! The following are pictures in that area. This is the Platt River at that point.

The above Mosaic is at the center line in the country. Below is the Bridge across the Interstate. It is a bit of a tourist trap, but a nice place to take a break.

It is about 750 miles from Green River to Lincoln, Nebraska and about 11 hours.

Grandma's Boy Party 2009

Well a lot of the Boy Party centered around the Hot Tub. When we arrived in Green River on Sunday Night, Grandma asked it they wanted to call their family? No lets go to the Hot Tub then we can call. It seemed to Hot Tub morning, noon and night.

Along with the Hot Tub was the backyard swimming pool and lunch on the grass.

Did you know the Hot Tub was a great place to snorkel? Don't tell the boys.

The Boy Party Craft was building pine cone bird feeders. Pretty cool huh?

Lot's of hard work but the finished product was well worth it.

Then it was off to the Splash Park. The most fun the boys had was to get Grandma soaking wet and they did it.

Isn't it great to see cousins having fun and so close together?

We went to the lake in the Boat on Monday night. Nice ride, but no fish. Then Tuesday Night we went to the County Pond fishing. Again Fishing is boring and catching is fun. Our success was Everett casting out Jace's line and Jace reeling in the fish. What a happy boy, but Everett thought he had some ownership in the fish.

What a happy kid!!!!

Sorry I was so slow getting the Boy Party blogged. The last thing the boys said on Wednesday when they left was "Grandpa you have not blogged our Party. Get it done"

OK now its done and we had a great PARTY!!!

Girl Party Days 5 & 6

Well Day 5 started with making clay and building lots of fun things.

Then we had to practice our dancing with our Hanna Montana Hero. Oh what fun to line dance to Hanna.

The dancing was so good that even a buck deer had to come and watch. Pretty close huh.

Then no girl party would be complete without a trip to the mall and shopping with Grandma. After they each found the outfit they could not live without, it was off to the Chinees Buffet for lunch.

Then the Girl Party went to the movie on Saturday afternoon. Saturday evening was spent on the Disney Channel, videos, and packing.

Sunday morning the girls went to Young Women's with Grandma. Lunch and then home.

As you can see 2009 was a great Girl Party and I even heard planning for next year.

Day 4 of Grandma's Girl Party 2009

Day 4 did not begin until 7:30 am. Yes everyone was worn out from
Lagoon and slept in. After breakfast and packing up, it was off to the Great Harvest Bread Store. They learned how to make bread and how much fun it would be to work at the bread store. Oh yes they came home with 8 loaves of bread.

Then it was home to Green River. The weather looked better that afternoon than the Friday forecast so it was off to the lake. As you can see we caught a couple of fish and had fun in the water.

Day 2 and 3 of Grandma's Girl Party 2009

WOW!! Lagoon a Beach!! Oh what fun!!!

Day 2 saw Aspen, Autumn, Hailey and Harmony go off to Day Camp while Grandma and Paige got to spend some time bonding with Everett and Oakley. No pictures available so just imagine all the Day 2 fun.

DAY 3 Saw Grandma and the Girls at Lagoon. This was like the old days when you stay at the Lagoon Campground and spend from opening to closing at the park. The following Pictures are the evidence of a fun Day 3 at Lagoon

2009 Grandma's Girl Party Day 1

Day 1 began with Grandma meeting Jen, Paige and Hailey in Ogden. The girls went with Grandma to Todd's to watch Aspen and Autumn in a Swim Meet. What fun to have race winners.
