Flaming Gorge Travel

Monday evening our Wells Fargo friend Nancy Kautz from Ft. Collins came to Rock Springs early enough for us to take her on a trip around the Flaming. What a great trip. Below you can see Nancy in from of the Gorge.
We even came upon the wild turkeys by the road above. Then the wild goats below. We also saw several deer.

The views of the Flaming Gorge were great. This was followed by dinner at the Red Canyon Lodge. It was delicious. Then viewing from the Red Canyon overlook below.

These pictures show the bridge by the dam. There are some islands near the dam. What a beautiful sight.
We really do have some lovely scenes in this area.

Framing Completed and electrical underway

Well when we arrived in Star Valley on July 23rd we found the framing done and nearly all the plumbing completed. Our mission over the next 3 days was to pull wire and complete the electrical rough in.

By 9 pm on Saturday we had finally finished. Just a few odds and ends that we needed additional parts to finish. We hope the HVAC and plumbing are completed this week. Our plan is to finish the electrical on Saturday and have the inspection. Then on to insulation, sheet rock, roof, and stucco.

Things are really coming together and we are excited to see how great it is. We want to thank our great family for 3 days of hard work. We as old folks could not keep up with the 6 am to 9 pm days. Our sons and their great wives really saved our bacon. Thanks again to all of you. We love you.

Grandma's Girl Party Day 4

Day 4 began with Scrapbooking. As you can see we had a great time working on Grandma's table. We had lots of fun building pages with our memories of the 2008 party.

Then we traveled to Star Valley to meet our families and work on Grandma's new house. After arriving in Star Valley we had a Fashion Show to show off the new dresses that we sewed ourselves.
This brings the 2008 Girl Party to an end. We had a great time and we really like our girl cousins & grandma.

Grandma's Girl Party Day 3

Another action pack day. It began with the girls spending the morning sewing dresses for themselves with the material they bought while shopping on Day 2.

Then in the afternoon it was Iceberg Time at the Pool. So we spent most of the afternoon at the pool. Everyone was able to climb the Iceberg. What fun.
After dinner it was time to go back to the pool for Float Time at 7:00 p.m. They were pretty water logged by 9:00 when they got home.

Grandma's Girl Party Day 2 Continued

Yesterday's Day 2 post was before the fun really began. As it got dark the Popcorn Party started. As you can see the sheet on the deck with the popcorn popper in action.
Following the Popcorn Party the Outdoor Movie began. A sheet on the wall and DVD projector. Just the Drive Inn Theatres in the old days.

Then we finished up the night with a sleep out on the deck. What a fun day.

Grandma's Girl Party Day 2

What a great start to the 2nd day, sleeping in until 8:00. Then after breakfast it was off to a morning of shopping. These girls do love to shop and surprise anything with Hanna Montana is the favorite.

Then it was the Pizza Hut buffet for lunch. There are no problems deciding what to eat when you can have everything. They got about everything on the plate. Not sure it was all eaten. You know eyes bigger than the stomach.

Then it was off to the lake for some boating and fishing. You can see that they had a great time of the tubes. The fishing lasted for a couple of hours with no fish getting in the boat. As Hailey says "Catching is fun, fishing is boring".

We are still working on the rest of the nights activities.

Well it is Finally here. The Grandma's Annual Girl Party is now underway. Day 1 included Church, skating to the park, playing on the equipment, hot tub and taffy pulling.

We have survived Day 1 without any serious injuries or fights. We still have lots of things planned before going to Star Valley on Wednesday.
